Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- The Bosch hub motor and 360 Wh PowerTube battery deliver light and pleasant pedal assist for everyday city rides.
- The battery is removable for charging away from the bike, which is particularly convenient if there is no socket in the bike shed.
- The 8-speed Shimano Essa derailleur system is reliable and easy to use, even for those new to e-bikes.
- A semi-integrated luggage rack (SIC 2.1), a kickstand, lights and mudguards are all fitted as standard on this city bike.
- Weighing 20.0 kg, this model is one of the lightest e-bikes in Cube's range.
- The Bosch hub motor (max. 45 Nm) is less powerful than a mid-drive motor: On steep inclines or when carrying a lot of luggage, you will feel less pedal assist than on the more powerful Editor Hybrid SLT model.
- There is no Smart System or app integration but, rather, a simple LED controller that does not provide any detailed ride data.

If you are looking for more power, a larger battery and a display that offers comprehensive ride data, the Cube Editor Hybrid SLT FE model is a step up with a mid-drive motor with Smart System, a Gates belt and an Enviolo automatic gear-shifting hub.
Bosch hub motor
Instead of a mid-drive motor, this Cube e-bike has a Bosch hub motor with a maximum torque of 45 Nm in the rear wheel. It makes the bike light and compact, ideal for city use and gentle gradients.
Removable PowerTube battery
The 360 Wh battery is removable, so you can charge it separately from the bike. This can be particularly convenient if you don’t have a power socket near your bike rack or other parking space.
UDH derailleur hanger
This Editor Hybrid model features a UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger), a standardised design that ensures the frame is also compatible with future derailleur systems.
Compatible with:
- ACID panniers and accessories compatible with the SIC 2.1 luggage rack
- ACID front bike lights with X-Connect plug - the bike already comes fitted with ACID front and rear lights
- UDH-compatible derailleur hangers and derailleurs for future replacement
Not compatible with:
- Luggage racks and panniers without a CUBE adapter - these will not fit properly on the semi-integrated SIC 2.1 rack
- Additional luggage exceeding the maximum system weight of 100 kg (rider weight + luggage)
- Wheels with an axle spacing other than 12x100 mm (front)
Not sure? Here’s how to check: Always check whether a pannier or accessory is compatible with the SIC 2.1 luggage rack, and bear in mind the maximum system weight of 100 kg.
- Cube Editor Hybrid One FE electric city bike
- SIC 2.1 semi-integrated luggage rack
- ACID front and rear lights, powered by the bike's battery
- Front and rear mudguards
- Kickstand
- Pedals
- Bosch LED controller
- Bosch charger for the PowerTube 360 battery

Not included / still required or useful:
- Take the battery indoors to charge it if you don’t have a socket near your bike shed. This is better for the battery’s lifespan than leaving it out in the cold
- Lubricate the chain regularly, especially after a wet or muddy ride
- Check the tyre pressure of your Continental Contact tyres regularly for optimum grip and reduced rolling resistance
- Clean the motor and frame with a bike cleaner without using a high-pressure hose directly on the motor housing
